2/1 Blog

Today in class was a review from two weeks ago when we were last in school. Due to the snow we had missed school for an entire week. We are currently continuing in our study of the ancient Greeks and learned about people like the Dorians and Macedonians today.

Notes:
Mycenae is located on a rocky ridge on Peloponnesus, protected by a wall.
Mycenaean kings dominated Greece from 1600-1100 BCE.
1400 BCE Mycenaeans invaded Crete and absorbd Minoan culture.
Trojan War fought in 12th or 13th cent BCE.
Around 1200 BCE the mysterious "Sea People" began to invade Mycenae, and burnt palace after palace.
The Dorians moved into the war torn region, domination from 150-750 BCE.
